Thanks for letting us know your concerns Erica.

Actually, we do from time to time offer free pet exams, so keep an eye out for those.

The reason why I call my vet and ask for advice is solely because I can't afford to pay the exam fee each and every time my pet feels sick. If exam fees were waived, I would gladly stop by. You fail to understand that people have to rely on non-vets (friends, family) because of the steep prices at vet clinics - and that's not including medication. Offer some of your services for a very low cost (anything over $10 for a quick check-up seems like nonsense) and I'm sure you'll stop getting phone calls about OTC medications.

Hi, great article. So important to educate people on the importance of vaccinating your puppy, matter of life and death when you think about it. Keep up the good work.

I live in the south-Memphis- Have a lab Coco that was diagnosed with HW in Feb. of 09. We treated her and followed-up- we were told tx was successful. We were very good about giving the med every month after that and always purchased from our vet. The dog had to have an emergency c-section in July of 2010- they did the surgery and we ask about protecting the pup they advised us about when to start the meds for the pup etc. Now in July of 2011 the Coco tests positive for HW again (pup hasn't been tested yet) when we ask about the guarantee on the medication they only offered partial assistance due to the fact that we did not have Coco tested in May of 2010 when she was due. My problem with that response is that the test would not have changed the fact that the medication does not work and why would they put an animal under anesthesia that was due for testing and had been treated only a year before without testing her or even mentioning that it was a problem. I have heard numerous stories about dogs that are given their meds year round but still get HW and also about dogs being retreated-and believe me after you spent $1200 to treat your dog you get the fact that the med has to be given every month on the same day! I think the drug companies should either make a med that works or quit ripping people off.

Hey! I have just adopted a maltese puppy, she will be 8 weeks next friday and we are traveling to mexico the week after that. I need to take with me a health certificate and a vaccine certificate. The breeder gave me your contact, her name is Leticia Ramirez and mine is an AKC female. I was just wondering how much the certificates cost...

Thanks
Maria

I had a similar problem. So I went to the local
Lowes and a worker recommended the laundry detergent Borax.
It's an all natural detergent. You sprinkle it on
your carpet and furniture and let it sit for 24
hours and then vacuum it. It works, no more problems.
As far as the kitties, try putting a touch of Dawn
dish-soap in the flea bath, it will help get rid of
the fleas off of them. It WORKED for me believe it or not.
